Ham and Swiss Sliders Recipe
on Dec 09, 2014, Updated Jan 30, 2024
Oh My these Ham and Cheese Sliders were a huge hit with my guests this past weekend. Loaded with ham, Swiss cheese and a mustard sauce all baked up to perfection. These sandwiches are delicious and over the top messy (in a good way). Perfect for game day or any party you are looking to serve up a tasty slider to. I am sure you have noticed these popular sandwiches if you surf Pinterest much. We quite often make our Philly Cheesesteak Sliders so I knew a slider was what we were needing for our party.
Ham and Swiss Sliders Recipe
I have been considering making these mini sandwiches for quite some time. I am so upset I had not made them sooner. They are a perfect party appetizer. We will most likely make these again for our New Years Eve party too!
I made two dishes of these bad boys and they were gone within just a few minutes time. I wish I would have taken a count on how many times I was asked if there were any sliders left. I love and hate when that happens ha ha! It reassures me that the sandwiches were really “that good”. But also disappointing that I did not make enough. I know I will be overly prepared next game day!
The ingredients and process for these Ham and Swiss sliders is super simple. You will need some rolls (I used a yummy Kings Hawaiian), ham, Swiss cheese, a few other ingredients. Then just a few minutes of prep and into the oven they go! Very simple.
INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup melted Butter
1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp Brown Sugar
1 tbsp Poppy Seeds
2 tsp Dried Minced Onion
12 King’s Hawaiian Dinner Rolls
9 oz thin sliced Deli Ham
8 oz thin sliced Swiss Cheese
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350.
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Combine butter, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, poppy seeds, and dried onion.
Slice the rolls to make sandwiches. Remove tops and set aside.
Place the bottom pieces into the prepared baking dish.
Layer the ham onto the rolls.
Top the ham with the Swiss cheese.
Place the tops of the rolls onto the sandwiches.
Brush or pour the liquid mixture evenly over the rolls.
Bake 20 minutes or until the rolls are lightly browned and cheese has melted.
Separate into individual sandwiches to serve.

My whole family and their friends love these sliders! One thing different, I bake them covered in foil so theyโre not so dried up. If you do bake it without foil, you can melt a little butter a lightly brush it over the sliders.
This is an easy and must try recipe
I have made these twice. The first time, I cooked too long. We only cook for 15 minutes this time. Also, when we took them out of the oven, we used some of the leftover sauce and brushed it all over the tops again. Covered with foil. We brought to our New Year’s party and were told they were “fire” by my young adult son and his friend which evidently means, “they so good”. The sandwiches didn’t last 10 minutes. We also used our leftover ham (Honey Baked Ham). We still have some ham left over and may need to make tonight:). Thanks for the recipe.
Ha Ha Tina! Yes my young adult sons use “Fire” quite often. It’s always great when I make a new recipe and receive that response. We will be making these for the Big Game soon. They are one of my kids favorites too! Happy New Year to you and thanks much for the recipe rating and review!
Love these but we do roast beef and cheddar. Great recipe with so many meat and cheese variations.
My go-to for all types of gatherings. Everyone loves the sweet and salty combo. And they’re very economical.
Made them many times but the amount of butter is waaay too much. 6 Tbs are adequate. I also cut entire brick of sweet rolls in half ( without separating them). This probably accounts for the need for less butter and itโs less work.
These look super yummy! Sharing! Thank you for sharing on Merry Monday! We hope you will join us again next week!

I made a very similar version of these for my husband’s birthday party the other night. SO GOOD. One of my guests suggested adding a pickle slice. Yum! I love that you add brown sugar. I’m trying that next time. Thanks!
Absolutely delicious! Used ham and turkey on some and used provolone cheese!! There’s lots of variations !
I think my sister-in-law uses this recipe. They’re delicious!
I’m drooling, these looks so good. We love anything sandwiched between Hawaiian rolls, so I know these are delicious. Thanks for sharing on Merry Monday. Pinned.
3/4 Butter was wayyyyyyy to much. I think it should prob be 1/4 cup of butter. I will try again using that.
These look SO good. I can’t wait to try making them!
I’ve made these 3 times now they are great. The last time I made them I made a Buttermilk Ranch Sweet Pickle
sauce. Simply blended a sweet pickle in a 1/4 cup of buttermilk ranch.
Made these sliders for Christmas Eve. Baked for 20 minutes then transferred to a crockpot and put on warm setting. They were great for about one hour then they got too hot and burned the bottom ones.
These sounds absolutely devine. Anyone who loves ham and swiss sandwiches will devour these. I will have to make some for my friends next football get together. Will also substitute cheddar for those who do not like swiss cheese and leave the ham off for those who don’t eat ham.
Your Ham and Swiss Sliders look fantastic, a great party idea. Hope you are having a great week and thanks so much for sharing your awesome talent with Full Plate Thursday.
Come Back Soon!

This is a meal my whole family would love! Thanks for sharing.
Oh, is there anything better than melted cheese and ham? I think not… not when they look like this anyway!
